If you’re having problems, you’ve come to the right place.

I need a lot of help. How does this Fish Tank work?

An extended tutorial is available. Start the Fish Tank Tutorial.

How do I submit my own story for review?

We’ve found that many people are more interested in receiving feedback on their own stories than giving feedback on other people’s stories. To keep the comments flowing, we enforce a rule that five comments be made for every story submitted. This five-to-one ratio guarantees that each story will receive at least five comments from readers. We think that when you get around to submitting your own story, you will appreciate this rule.

Once you have commented on five stories, you can submit your own story from the ‘Your Stories’ sections of your Member Home Page.

I forgot my password. How can I log in?

Just enter your email address below and press the “Send Password” button. We will email your login name and password to the address we have on file.

What do all those cryptic code words mean next to the story title?

Those are things called “Story Codes,” which are abbreviations for the types of sex that occur within the story. An explanation of the codes can be found in our Story Code Guide.

My browser does not support cookies. Can I still get involved in The Fish Tank?

No. The Fish Tank uses cookies for logging in. If your browser is set to reject cookies, or if it so old that it does not support cookies, you will not be able to log in, and you will not be able to read or post stories.

I don’t want my boss to find out I’m writing stories in my free time. Can you keep my name private?

The Fish Tank will not disclose any of your personal information to any third party outside the Fish Tank. Read our Privacy Policy for specific information.

How do I have a private discussion with another member?

We have a mechanism for members to reply to comments and stories in private email. Next to a member’s comment or story, just click on the email email links to take you to the email form.

Note that members may block email from other members by checking a checkbox in their account preferences. If a member has email blocked, there is no way for you to privately get in contact with him or her.

Doesn’t this email mechamism bypass your privacy policy by revealing email addresses?

No. If you send email to another member, we will not show you the other member’s email address. The other member’s email address is kept on our server and is not revealed to you.

Note, however, that once you send email to the other member, the other member will know your email address.

I have a question not covered by anything I’ve seen so far. What do I do now?

Send us email at E-mailThe Fish Tank. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
